- The Brookline Arts Center, Site-specific Works -
Here is a series of archival drawing projects of the Brookline Arts Center by artist Narrae Kang. It refers not only to the location and the time that she spent at the BAC, but also the clues of her real existence. Through the show, she shares how an immigrant woman artist appreciates the beauty of mundanity while taking so much care with her labor and effort. Specifically for the exhibition, she found subtle site-specific things and moved them into art pieces with her glassworks and drawings. By transcribing on the surface of glass with a mark-making method, she tries to reinvent how we feel the beauty in our daily lives and raises questions about the life of an immigrant woman artist.
